Don Harvie, TWSA, recieved Best of Show in the Butte County National, the W&N Award in the Texas watercolor Exhibition, and awards in the Wyoming W/C, Georgia W/C, Arizona W/C shows.

Recent acceptances also included the California W/C show, San Diego W/C National, Soutwestern W/C, New Mexico W/C and the Kansas W/C Exhibitions.

Don has also had two paintings accepted for inclusion in "Splash 13", a North Light book due out in 2012.

Donna Rossetti-Bailey, of Marshfield, MA has been awarded The Great American Pastels Award for her soft pastel painting “Late Afternoon Sun” at the national juried Renaissance in Pastel 2011 Exhibit at the Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, CT sponsored by the CT Pastel Society. She was also awarded The Dakota Pastel/F&W Publication/ Pastel Journal Award for “Santa Fe Falls” at the national juried exhibit, For Pastels Only on Cape Cod 2011 at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod.

In addition, “Summer Falls” has been juried into The 83rd Grand National Exhibition of the American Artists Professional League at the Salmagundi Club in NYC.
Donna is a member of the Signature Membership Committee and Jury for the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod and The Arts Committee at the North River Arts Association in Marshfield Hills, MA. She also continues her regular teaching schedule of pastel classes for the coming year, held Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. There's something quite nice about an art exhibit such as this, you are surrounded by

your fellow artists that really are happy for you when you win, truly, these are professionals

who feel well if I didn't win this time, I'll get it next time and those that won today will

be happy for you tomorrow. It's not about competition, it's about celebrating

really well done fine art!

A Master Pastel Class with Frank Federico
A Three Day workshop will be held at the Litchfield Firehouse, West Street, Litchfield Ct (next to CVS Pharmacy) on March 21,22,and 21 2011 to help students hone in already existing skills examining content, execution and technique.

Demonstrations using a variety of approaches, discussion on contents and personal STYLE and "PAINT IN" sessions will be offered. The fee is $350.00.

She has won an Allan J. Smith Memorial Award for Pastel award for her pastil painting "Afternoon Sky" at the 82nd Grand National Exhibition of the American Artists Professional League held at the Salmagundi Club in New York. Donna has been an Artist Member of AAPL since 1998.

Donna has three pastel paintings on display at the North River Arts Society GAR Hall in Marshfield Hills as part of the Groundbreaking Exhibit, She also has two pieces on exhibit at the 2010 Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod Member's Show in Brewster, MA . Christine Ivers of Meriden, CT recently received a First Place Award at the 2010 Connecticut Women Artists Juried members Exhibit for her pastel "Insomnia" which was displayed at Gallery 53, Meriden.

Christine was also awarded First Place at the 41st Annual New Britain Museum of American Art Juried Members Exhibit for her pastel "After the Concert".

Mike Mazer's "tale of two", Mike had two paintings accepted in the International Society of Marine Painters exhibition at the Ventura Maritime Museum where he won two awards. Two of his paints in the collection of the USCG were part of an international exhibtion (total 25 paintings) at the Zeeland Maritime Museum in Vlissingen Holland to represent the 400th anniversary of the European founding of New York (New Amsterdam) by Henry Hudson for the Dutch West Indies Co. Twenty-two of his maritime paintings of the South Coast were on exhibit in a one-man invitational at the Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis, MA from March - May. That exhibiton was the first to be sponsored by the Arthur W. McMurtry Memorial Fund of the CCMA Endowment Fund established to support an annual exhibition of a living artist expected to merit national attention. Two maritime paintings were accepted in the Watercolor U.S.A. 2009 exhibiton at the Springfield Art Museum in MO, and he has two paintings in the 16th Annual Maritime Exhibition at the Coos Art Museum, Oregon. Mike's work will also be included at the Pritzker Military Library in Chicago in the fall as part of a Coast Guard Art Exhibit. He is also exhibiting in the Signature members show with the Rhode Island Watercolor Society and accepted into the New England Watercolor Society's Regional exhibiton at the Art complex Museum in Duxbury, MA. Mike recently won first prize in watercolor at Arts Affair in Quincy, MA. His work was chosen from hundreds by 13 regional art associations. He was awarded the New England Watercolor Society Award for excellence in Watercolor at the North Shore Arts Associations's Exhibition III.

Mary Jane Cross's painting "His Banner over Me is Love" was accepted into the Oil Painters of America Eastern Regional exhibition.

Her painting "Sing Over Me" won The Gary T. Erby Award in The allied Artist Of America Exhibiton at The National Arts Club in NYC in December.

Yankee Broadcasting is in production of a documentary about Mary Jane's career and paintings.

Christine Ivers has recently been awarded the Art Spirit Foundation Award for Excellence in Pastel at the 126th Annual Members Exhibiton at the Salmagundi Club, NY. She has also been notified that she has been selected to be one of the top 100 Pastelists by Pastel Journal with an honorable mention in the landscape division. Chris has also had painitngs accepted into the 15th Juried International Association of Pastel Societies Exhibiton at the City of Brea Art Gallery, Brea, CA and this years's "Richeson 75" Best in Pastels Competition. She has been elected to the Board of Directors at Lyme Art Association, Old Lyme, CT and has been invited to join The Allied Artists of America, Inc. as an active artist member. Wow!

Barbara Lussier is a Competition Finalist for RayMar Art National competition. Judge Bryce Cameron Liston had these comments on this painting. "Delicately subtle. I almost overlooked this painting at first maybe just because of the subject matter. It's a scene that can easily be overdone, but not this one. It's beauty is in its subtleness and expert handling of lowland landscape. The sky is a pleasing 2/3 of the painting. All of the colors....

Craig Srebnik recently opened a new art school and galleries in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Classes, workshops and free demonstrations include painting portraits, nude and clothed figures, street scenes, landscapes, anatomy and composition.
